I have the honour to inform Your Lordship

that an application has been received from Hessrs. Butterfield and Swire for an area show coloured red on the accompanying plan as an extension to their Quarry Bay Inland Lot No. 1.

The area asked for is unsuitable for development independent of the lot referred to and I have therefore permitted the extension without auction subject to your approval on the following terms:-

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

(a). The lessees to surrender the existing lease of

Quarry Bay Inland Lot No. 1, when called upon to do so by the Land Officer.

(b). The lessees to be granted a new Crown Lease to

include Quarry Bay Inland Lot No. 1 and the area shom coloured red on attached plan, the new lease to be for the same term, and to commence from the same date as the existing lease of Quarry Bay Inland Lot No. 1, namely 999 years commencing from 18th August, 1890, and to be subject to all the clauses and covenants contained in the old lease together

with the following.

(c). The lessees to pay into the Colonial Treasury,

VISCOUNT MILNER,

within seven days of the date of a letter from the Director of Public Works stating that the area is at their disposal, premium at the rate of 10 cents
